Paws4Life relies on compassionate foster families to provide a safe, loving place for dogs and cats while they wait for their scheduled transport to one of our trusted rescue partners.
Our fosters are short-term, making it a great opportunity for families who want to help but cannot commit long-term.
Average Foster Commitment: 1–3 weeks

What Does Paws4Life Provide?
We want fostering to be as stress-free as possible. Paws4Life covers all approved expenses related to your foster animal.

How Long Will I Foster?
Most foster animals stay with their foster family for approximately 1–3 weeks, depending on when the next transport is scheduled.
Our goal is to move animals to our trusted rescue partners as quickly and safely as possible.
Because our foster periods are short, many volunteers choose to foster again after their current foster leaves.

Do I pay for anything?
No. Paws4Life provides food, veterinary care, medications, supplies (when needed), and covers approved expenses related to your foster animal.
What if my foster gets sick?
Contact us immediately. We'll arrange veterinary care and guide you through the next steps.
Can I choose what I foster?
Absolutely! We work to match foster homes with animals that fit their experience, home, and lifestyle.
Can I adopt my foster?
No. Paws4Life is a transport rescue. Every animal in our program has already been committed to one of our trusted rescue partners, where they will continue their journey to a carefully screened adoptive home. Our foster program is designed to provide a safe, temporary place for animals while they wait for transport.
What if I have other pets?
Many of our foster animals do well with other pets. We'll discuss each animal's personality and needs before placement to help ensure a good fit.
What if I need to leave town or can no longer foster?
Please let us know as soon as possible. We'll work with you to make other arrangements for your foster animal.
Why We Need Foster Homes
Paws4Life does not operate a shelter. Every dog and puppy we rescue stays in a foster home until their scheduled transport to one of our trusted rescue partners.
Without foster families, we simply cannot say "yes" to animals in need.
By fostering for just 1–3 weeks, you're giving a rescue animal a safe place to rest, receive medical care, and prepare for the next step in their journey. Your temporary commitment helps save lives and allows us to continue rescuing more dogs and cats.
