30 Dogs, One Journey: Another Paws4Life Transport Complete
Updated: Sep 4
Another transport is complete, and 30 dogs have safely made it to North Shore Animal League America!
What looks like one day on the road is actually the result of days and weeks of preparation, teamwork, veterinary care, fostering, coordination, and a whole lot of love.
For these 30 dogs, transport day marked the beginning of their next chapter.
It Takes a Team
This transport was truly a collaborative effort between Paws4Life, U Care Project, That Crazy Dog Lady, North Shore Animal League America, and Lucky Tails Express.
Each organization played an important role in getting these dogs where they needed to go.
North Shore Animal League America sent Lucky Tails Express from Houston to assist with transporting the dogs to their facility in New York. Working together allows organizations like ours to help animals from Louisiana and East Texas reach trusted rescue partners with opportunities for placement.
This was also an especially meaningful milestone for Paws4Life—our 103rd transport to North Shore Animal League America.
Before Transport Day
Long before everyone gathered for transport, there was work happening behind the scenes.
Dogs needed temporary foster homes. Veterinary appointments had to be completed. Vaccinations, medications, records, microchips, crates, and supplies had to be coordinated and prepared.
Volunteers helped get animals where they needed to be, fosters cared for them while they waited, and our rescue partners worked with us to coordinate the trip.
Every detail matters when you're preparing this many animals to travel safely.
Then It Was Time to Go
Transport day is always filled with different emotions.
There is excitement because the dogs are moving forward. There is relief because weeks of preparation have finally come together. And for our foster families, there can be some tears as they say goodbye to animals they have cared for and loved.
But those goodbyes mean the foster did exactly what they set out to do.
They provided a safe place until it was time for that dog to continue the journey.
And when those foster spaces open again, Paws4Life has another opportunity to help the next animal who needs us.
30 Dogs Safely Arrived
We're thrilled to share that all 30 dogs made it safely to North Shore Animal League America.
Paws4Life is a transport-focused rescue. We do not handle adoptions. Our role is to help animals in our region receive the care they need and safely reach trusted rescue partners who continue their journey and handle the adoption process.
Watching a transport leave is one of the clearest reminders of why partnerships are so important to our mission.
We couldn't do this alone.
Thank You to Everyone Who Made It Possible
A heartfelt thank you to U Care Project, That Crazy Dog Lady, North Shore Animal League America, and Lucky Tails Express for working alongside us to make this transport possible.
Thank you to the foster families who opened their homes.
Thank you to the volunteers who gave their time.
Thank you to the veterinary teams who helped prepare the animals.
Thank you to our donors and supporters who help cover the many expenses that come with rescue and transport.
And thank you to everyone who shares our posts and helps more people learn about the work being done for animals in our community.
Every person plays a part.
30 dogs made it safely to their next destination because people and organizations came together for them.
And now that this transport is complete, we begin preparing to do it all over again for the next animals who need us.
30 dogs. 30 new chapters. One incredible team that helped get them there. ❤️🐾🚐
