36 Dogs and Puppies, One Lifesaving Journey: September 29 Transport to North Shore Animal League America
On September 29, 2026, 36 dogs and puppies arrived safely at North Shore Animal League America at 4:30 PM, marking another successful lifesaving transport coordinated by Paws4Life and our dedicated rescue partners.
Their journey began the day before in Louisiana, where dogs and puppies from several rescue organizations came together for an opportunity at a brighter future.
For these 36 animals, this transport was more than a trip across state lines. It was the next important step toward finding loving, permanent homes.
36 Lives, Five Rescue Organizations
This transport was a collaborative effort involving five organizations working toward the same goal: helping homeless and abandoned animals find safety and new opportunities.
The 36 dogs and puppies included:
Paws4Life: 5 dogs and puppies
U CARE Project: 15 dogs and puppies
That Crazy Dog Lady: 8 dogs and puppies
Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana: 1 puppy
Minden Animal Control: 7 puppies
Each organization played an important role in helping these animals reach the next stage of their rescue journey. By working together, we can accomplish far more than any one organization could do alone.
The Journey to North Shore Animal League America
On September 28, the 36 dogs and puppies began their journey from Louisiana with Save Them All Pet Transport.
After traveling overnight and into the following day, all 36 animals arrived safely at North Shore Animal League America on September 29 at 4:30 PM.
We are incredibly grateful to Save Them All Pet Transport for safely transporting these precious animals and helping make this journey possible.
We also extend a heartfelt thank you to North Shore Animal League America for welcoming them and providing continued care as they move toward finding permanent homes.
What Happens Before Transport?
Although transport day is an exciting milestone, much of the work begins long before the animals leave Louisiana.
Preparing dogs and puppies for transport requires coordination among rescue organizations, foster families, veterinary providers, volunteers, and transportation partners.
Behind every successful transport are people working to ensure the animals are properly cared for and prepared for their journey.
This preparation may include:
Providing temporary foster homes and boarding
Scheduling veterinary examinations and vaccinations
Arranging necessary medical care and preventive treatments
Preparing health records and transport paperwork
Coordinating with receiving rescue partners
Organizing crates, food, and travel supplies
Each step is essential to helping animals travel safely and arrive ready for the next chapter.
Why Rescue Transport Matters
North Louisiana and East Texas continue to face significant challenges with pet overpopulation, abandoned animals, and overcrowded shelters.
Many dogs and puppies in our region have limited opportunities to find homes locally.
Paws4Life is a transport-focused rescue organization. Rather than adopting animals directly, we help rescue, care for, and prepare animals for transport to trusted rescue partners in other parts of the country.
Organizations such as North Shore Animal League America provide continued care and help connect these animals with families looking to adopt.
Transport creates opportunities for animals who might otherwise remain in overcrowded shelters or face uncertain futures. It also helps create space and resources for local rescue organizations to assist additional animals in need.
It Takes a Village
A successful transport of 36 animals doesn't happen without an incredible amount of teamwork.
We want to recognize and thank U CARE Project, That Crazy Dog Lady, Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana, Minden Animal Control, Save Them All Pet Transport, and North Shore Animal League America for their dedication and partnership.
We are equally grateful to the foster families who opened their homes, the veterinary teams who helped prepare the animals, the volunteers who gave their time, and the donors and supporters whose generosity helps make our work possible.
Every person involved played a part in helping these 36 animals safely reach their destination.
Help Us Make the Next Transport Possible
While we celebrate the safe arrival of these 36 dogs and puppies, many more animals in our region are still waiting for help.
Every successful transport reminds us why foster homes, volunteers, donations, and strong rescue partnerships are so important.
You can support future transports by becoming a temporary foster, volunteering your time, making a donation, or simply sharing our mission with others.
