When you donate to Paws4Life, you become part of an animal's journey to safety.

Paws4Life is a volunteer-based, transport-focused rescue. We help dogs and cats in Louisiana and East Texas get the care they need before safely transporting them to trusted rescue partners.

But getting an animal from rescue to transport takes much more than putting a crate in a vehicle and driving.

There are veterinary appointments, vaccines, medications, food, foster care, supplies, paperwork, transportation expenses, and sometimes unexpected emergencies along the way.

Your donations help make all of that possible.

Vaccinations & Preventative Care

Before animals can travel, their health is a priority.

Donations help provide core vaccinations, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention when appropriate, and other preventative care.

These services help protect the individual animal as well as the other animals they may encounter during foster care and transport.

Veterinary Care

Some animals come to us needing much more than routine care.

Your donations help cover veterinary examinations, diagnostic testing, medications, follow-up appointments, and treatment for animals who are sick or injured.

Sometimes an animal needs only a wellness exam. Other times, we discover a medical condition that must be addressed before that animal can safely travel.

Whatever their needs may be, we want to make sure the animals in our care receive appropriate veterinary attention.

Foster Care & Boarding

Paws4Life does not operate a shelter.

That means foster homes are an essential part of our rescue model. Animals need somewhere safe to stay while they receive care and wait for their scheduled transport.

Our foster families generously open their homes, while Paws4Life provides the approved supplies and care their foster animals need.

When a foster home isn't immediately available or an animal requires temporary boarding, donations help us cover those costs as well.

Food & Everyday Supplies

Rescue animals still need all the everyday things your own pets need.

Food, treats, crates, bedding, bowls, collars, leashes, cleaning supplies and other necessities add up quickly—especially when we're caring for a litter of puppies or multiple animals preparing for the same transport.

Your support helps us provide those essentials while they're in our care.

Spay & Neuter

Rescue isn't only about helping the animals who need us today. We also want to help prevent more animals from needing rescue tomorrow.

Paws4Life helps connect pet owners with low-cost spay and neuter appointments to help reduce pet overpopulation in our community.

When we accept a litter of puppies into our program, we require the mother to be spayed and, when applicable, the father to be neutered.

Preventing another unwanted litter can make an impact far beyond the animals we're helping today.

Microchipping

Microchips provide animals with permanent identification.

Donations help cover microchips and registration so animals can be properly identified as they continue their journey.

It's a tiny piece of technology that can make an enormous difference if an animal is ever lost.

Grooming

Some rescued animals come to us dirty, matted, uncomfortable, or simply in need of basic grooming.

Donations can help provide bathing, nail trims, ear cleaning, and coat care so animals are clean, comfortable, and healthy before transport.

Transportation

This is where everything we've been working toward comes together.

Transportation is at the heart of Paws4Life's mission.

Your donations help cover the costs associated with safely moving rescued animals from Louisiana and East Texas to our trusted rescue partners. That can include fuel, vehicle maintenance, travel expenses, crates, transport supplies, and other costs associated with getting animals safely to their destination.

Every mile matters.

Emergency Rescue Needs

Rescue doesn't always go according to plan.

A puppy may suddenly become ill. An injured animal may need immediate veterinary attention. A foster animal may require unexpected medication or additional testing.

These situations can't always wait until funds are raised.

Donations give Paws4Life the ability to respond when an animal unexpectedly needs help.
